What would you do if your fiancée of 10 years insists on getting an abortion for the fourth time?
I am Nora and I have a big problem I want your readers to help with their words of advice. I am 32-years-old and I have been in a relationship with Patrick for the past 10 years but he is not in a hurry to settle down.
Patrick is 39-years-old and it's not that he is not capable of settling down but he keeps shifting the post anytime I bring up the issue of marriage. I am also doing well in my job as a banker and my family is no longer comfortable that I have been with a man this long without getting married.
My sisters are all married and they have been telling me to move on and get married to another man but I love Patrick and cannot contemplate living without him but he is not just ready.
In our years together, I have taken in three times and always succumbed to his demands to go for an abortion and the last time, the doctor told me I stand the chance of not getting pregnant when I want to.
So two months ago, I missed my period again and I am determined to keep the baby but Patrick is not favourably disposed to the idea and has been hankering on me to undergo another abortion.
He has added another dimension that I am planning to pin him down with a baby when he is not ready. He has refused to talk to me since I told him I am not ready to abort this baby.
My friends are of the view that I should dare him and keep the baby but I am afraid he will deny responsibility and my baby would go through life without a father. But at the same time, I am afraid of getting rid of it because of the warning the doctor gave me the last time.
What should I do this time around?
Nora."
